Topic: Destruction of Sodom
Text: Genesis 19
Key text: Genesis 19:24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon
Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
Discussion: Sodom was a land of
fruitfulness, a land to be desired, and this made Lot, to make a choice near
Sodom, when Abraham tried to resolve the rift between their herdsmen, (Genesis
13: 8-12)the pleasantness of Sodom endeared Lot, till he was finally settled in
Sodom, but one day an Angel came with the announcement, We will destroy this
place... (Verse 11)
Not
all that glitter is gold, so goes a saying, in Life not all that is good is
worthy, Lot's choice of Sodom appeared to be good but now, we realize, this
choice made him to lose all he had to the fire of Sodom. In the same vain we
are making several choices in Life, but it is important to consider, what shall
be the end of the choice we are making, someone said "I have never known a
man who receives Christ and regret", but I have realized from the Bible
that any choice you make outside Christ, will come with sorrow.
Are
you already born again hold on to the end, and if not you and repent today and
make a right choice. This world will pass away, and ask the things thereof, and
there is coming a day of God's Judgement, if you confess your sins there awaits
you an eternity in Heaven but if you refuse and die in your sin there awaits
you an eternity in Hell, this is not my desire for you, that is Why I present
Jesus to you today, accept him Today.
Challenge: While the Angels (your Pastor,
the Bible, Devotionals) still announce the the coming destruction, Repent lest you be destroyed in
Hell
Prayer: Keep me Lord on the way to Heaven
and let not my foot be moved.
