So shall it be!

Text: Luke 17:26-32

This passage is one of the place where Jesus foretold his return, and he described here what will be the attitude of people when he will return. He said his coming will be "as it was in the days of Noe... Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; (Luke 17:26,28 KJV)".

His coming would have preached, but the people would not be prepared, at his coming only the few like Lot's family in Sodom,  will be ready, only the Noah's family will be ready.

The gospel will have been preached and all will be aware but few will be prepared, many will doubt, others will be busy, some who are like Lot's Wife will have been saved, but as they run the race toward the Final salvation, their attention will be drawn away from the redemption's hill, they will look back at the Sodom they left behind, they will forget the Lord's injunction that: " No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62 KJV)

Paul by the spirit of God wrote to Timothy  saying: " Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;" (1 Tim 4:1,2)

It is evident that one of the things that will precede Christ's second coming is gross departure of many from the faith, the love of many waxing cold, the increase of false prophets and teachers, and this is therefore not surprising when we see error flying about in our society and even churches today.

Many preachers excuse sin because they are not free themselves, and sin is gradually becoming part of life of members and leader in religious circles today.

All these should serve as a warning to end time believers that we might live our life with Godly fear, and look onto the Hope of our redemption, Even Jesus Christ, we should look away from the worldly possessions that are gradually sinking us in the sea of sin, we must no longer excuse but confess and cry out for help, like Peter " saying, Lord, save me."  (KJV) lest we be drown in Hell by sin, or left behind like Lot's wife, by our backsliding of a moment.

This is a call to each and all of us that we check our life, is the life of Christ still there, is the blessedness that He thought still there (Matthew 5 - 7) or we are like the Pharisees carrying about empty profession of religion?

Remember Lot's wife. (KJV) Pause and check your life, is your life free from sin, the sins you confessed have you not returned to them, is the Grace of God Still teaching you to deny ungodliness, or are you claiming grace when ungodliness is still in your life, grace and mercy is available today if only you will repent of your sins.

Today is not the day of judgment, mercy is available, the saving grace still appearing to you, Jesus is saying " Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. (KJV)"

Why do you tarry dearly beloved, remember the love of many shall wax cold, is yours waxing cold already? It is the sign of the last days, come to the throne for the flame that you might be ablaze for God again.
