Topic: The Unrighteousness of Salvation without Good works
Text: James 2
Key text: James 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Discussion: The Uniform teaching of the Bible is that we are saved by Grace, through faith, not by works, that no man should boast of been saved by self effort. This teaching is unbalanced if this does ni not produce a Change in us, this salvation is to generate in us Good work, which is the justification (prove) of our salvation, empty profession of Salvation by faith without, works is as dead as the Body without the Spirit, and that is why our text reveals to us some Good works that comes as evidences of our salvation:
-Impartiality of treatment: our treatment of people, Judgement of actions and situations should be without prejudice, but with all fairness and equity (James 2:1-4 ) having respect to persons(partiality) is a sin James 2:9
-Due Regards and help for the poor: poverty should not make us to disregard anyone, for before God, riches is insignificant, for riches has made several men far from God.
-Sincerity of speech and action: So speak ye, and so do ( James 2:12 )
-Right response to the Need of the needy: At every time it is within our power to help people in need, we should do it properly, never send away one that approaches you with a sincere need without rendering all the help within your ability (James 2:15-16)
