Ye shall Receive Power 2

Topic: The Purpose of the Promised Power

Text: Acts 1-4

Key Text: Acts 1:8

Discussion: As we continue the study of Acts of the Apostles, in the series of "Ye shall Receive Power" we want to find out, when the power comes, what is the purpose of the power?
Jesus already gave the purpose in Chapter 1,  see it in Acts 1:8  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. The purpose of the power was to make us Witnesses. The presence of the Holy Ghost, helps us to be faithful Witnesses,

-As witnesses, we should, tell others what he has done for us in saving us from sin(Acts 3:12-16 Acts 4:12  ), saving us from sin he set us forth as miracle.

-As witnesses we are to tell them what he will do for them if they come to him,(Acts 3:19) let them know there is refreshing from God, when we come to him, there is pardon and cleansing for all Sins.

-As Witnesses, we should give them prove of his power (Acts 3:7) Jesus said Except (they) see signs and wonders, (they) will not believe.

-As witnesses we should do what he would do if he was here now (Acts 3:6) if Jesus was there with that sick he would heal him the same Thing Peter did.

-As Witnesses we should show his compassion for sinners, his hatred for sin, and shine his light. (Acts 3:17-19) Peter was compassionate, yet slowed them their Sin

-As witness we are empowered to be bold Acts 4:13  we are to preach with all boldness and fearlessness, Peter was fearful so much he denied Christ. But here the power came he was bold

-As Witnesses we rather Obey God than men, we please him always, by speech and action Acts 4:19

-As Witnesses, in persecution we don't curl into our shell. We give God a feedback through prayer Acts 4:29 and this will bring About more Power (Acts 4:31)

-As Witnesses we are sacrificing,   we give. Acts 4:34-37

Challenge:  The purpose of the Power is for witnessing.

Prayer: Make me Lord a faithful WITNESS
