I am Glad to welcome you to this prayer day, and I implore you to please pray for Nigeria, pray with your Heart, for we are serving A Good that cannot fail, our fathers have prayed like this before, and God answered, because they prayed in Unity and Faith, they prayed with passion and concern, and today if we will pray in like manner God will answer, for he had not called us to sell him in vain!
Why should we pray?
Looking into the situation if it dear nation reveals to us the necessity of Prayer, the situation of the nation is pathetic, the killings, poverty, high cost of living, unemployment, dilapidated education system, failed power system, trampled legal system, and lots more calls for prayer, The forth coming Election need prayer.
Summarily, we are to Pray because:
-There are serious challenging situations in our nation
-The sins of our nation is Great, and We God's Mercy
-The Past faithfulness of God to our prayers, reassures us that God will answer us.
-God commanded us to Pray, and pray for it Nation.
-The Promise God gave to us, to hear us when we pray.
-God has put it in our Heart to pray.
Some of the Prayer Points
The prayers for Nigeria a numerous but here's a few prayer point, as we pray, be open to the Holy Spirit, and he teach us to pray.
Thanksgiving for Nigeria
First we will Praise God for his faithfulness in answering our prayers, and the prayer of our Parent before us, who called on Him in times of distress and how he answered them.
Thank God for still preserving Nigeria as a nation until now despite many daunting challenges.
Thank God for our Leaders past and present, How God has used them in one way or the other for progress of this nation
Thank God for the church, how God has been using His Church in This era.

Mercy Repentance and Forgiveness
Ask the Lord to forgive us as a nation the sin of bloodshed.
That God will be merciful on our Nation and forgive our unrighteousness, transgression and gross departure from God, to serve our bellies.
That God will forgive our sin of corruption, and neglect of the less privileged

Security, Unity & Peace in Nigeria
That God will, send away all the Strangers, in the Nation, causing, violence, and all their influences will be destroyed.
That peace will reign in our Nation, from North to East to South to West and back to North, that within our borders will be peace and round about us.
That every lovers of violence will not be able to accomplish their desires in this Nation, every strategy from within and without to put this Nation in a state of unrest, confusion and violence will be scattered, and altered.
Decree and silence every rumor of war, and quench every agitation and desire for war in our Nation, in the name of Jesus.
Pray that Nigeria becomes one of the safest and greatest nations in the world.
Leadership
That all the seat of Power will be cleansed, by the Blood of Jesus, and every occupant of places of authority, will administer in righteousness,
That our Leaders will have an encounter with God, that will order their steps, and give them the mandate to take this Nation to its rightful Place in the committee of Nations.
Pray that God gives us genuine men and women with sound leadership skills, leaders with the fear of God, men and women of truth and those who hate covetousness, (Ex.18:21).
Ask the Lord to brood over Aso Rock and shield the presidency from every evil influence of enchantments, spells, divinations, sorcery, curses and other wicked imaginations of men,(Num. 23:23).
Pray God to put His Heart in the people at the Executive, Judiciary and the legislatures, Pray that the fear of God and national interest, remains the bedrock of our legislation and not ethnic or religious interests.
Election
Come 2019, we will be going to the polls to choose the leaders of this nation, we shall pray:
-The conduct of the election will be peaceful
-Every plan to Hinder the election will be cancelled
-That God will choose leaders for us, who will take us into God's promised Land, at all levels and arms of Government.
-No Bloodshed before, during and after the election.
-That God will put his fear in the heart of every election umpires, that they conduct a free a fair election.
Cancel all Slavery plans
Every plan of the wicked to bring this nation into slavery will be frustrated and destroyed
Economy
That God will destroy every devourers in our Nation, and we will no longer, waste our resources, but God will command his blessing on us and give us People that will rebuild our Economy.
That God will open the eyes of our Leaders to see the way to tackle the problem of unemployment among our youths.
That the era of industrializing will return.
Education
Pray that God Rebuild our Educational System to produce fully made graduates, that will be effective in the society.
Pray God to put a stop to distractions in our education system,
Pray against corruption, prostitution, occultism and other vices in our education system.
Electricity
Ask the Lord to raise godly people to run this sector and turn it around.
That Power Supply will become Stable in our Nation
That all sabotage in the sector will come to an end.
Agriculture
Pray that this sector will receive revival.
That God will bless our land and cause our Land to yield its increase.
That God will cause the weather to be favorable to our crops.
Citizenry
Pray that our children be brought up in the way of the Lord so that when they grow up, they will not depart there from, (Prov. 22:6).
Pray that the young Men and women (Youths) shall be
- As arrows in the hands of a warrior
-they shall not bring shame
-they shall speak with the enemies at the gate
-they shall be as olive plants around their parents table, (Psalm 127:4 – 5; 128:3; Prov. 22:6).
Pray that God will make the fathers, Men of valor, who play their role in the home
Pray for the orphans that God be a comfort to them and raise help for them on every side
That God will create in all the fear of God from the leaders to the Led. That God restore the REVIVAL as of old, which will cause a change in the heart of all to serve the true and Living God
Churches in Nigeria
Pray for God fearing heart, a revival for a new heart and new spirit in the Church.
Ask God to comfort and strengthen northern Christians facing persecution.
Ask God to burden the hearts of His servants with passion, and action toward evangelism, discipleship, and holy living.
Prophesy and decree, frustrate the plans of the enemy to destabilize Nigeria and make it an Islamic nation, ( Psalm 2:1-12; Isaiah 7:7; 8:9,10; Job 5:12;)
Pray God to give missionaries and their families strength, wisdom, encouragement, protection, provision, anointing, compassion, revived prayer life, healthy family life, fruitfulness, grace and favor, open heavens, God’s presence, courage, peace, joy, holy lifestyle, divine direction, mercy and long life.
- That God, will restore righteousness, revival, and real Salvation, in our churches,
That God will open the eye of Church Leaders, workers and members to see the need for genuine Salvation, instead of materialist message (that has eaten deep into our fabric, and changed the attention of the Church from Salvation from sin, though Christ Jesus, to materialism occultism and idolatry).
That once again, the Church will bring hope to our fainting Nation.
That the disunity among churches will be taken away as righteousness, shall takeover in all the churches in Nigeria.
That God will bring down all the high places of Satan in the churches today, and Christ will be enthroned in every Christian Gatherings,
That the Gospel of Christ will flourish in our Nation and every resistance will be taken away.
That God will awaken the Church to the great commission of Evangelization and Discipleship.
That all those that cover up their evildoings with Church names will be exposed: (as the case of Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, in Acts Chapter 5.)
That God will heal or Nation from Her root to her fruit.
Finally, thank God for he has answered; bless him for our Nation shall begin to witness the great move of God.
