Topic: The Garment of an Harlot

Text: Genesis 38

Key text: Genesis 38:15  When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face.

Discussion: It is common to hear people saying, "The way you dress, you will be addressed" but this is fast losing its meaning, people now don't care the way they are addressed, young people now find it convenient to dress indecently with the pretense "It doesn't matter".
  Dear reader, the way you dress really matters, the reason why rape, and sexual assault is on the rise these days is because of the rise in indecent dressing, which has sent an immoral message, which resulted in the eventual rape.
  Apart from the rape consequence, there are other consequences, but the Greatest consequence is that of God's anger, the word of God teaches us to cover our nakedness, hence, we should not expose our nakedness, in disguise of fashion or beauty. Let your nakedness be properly covered.

  Judah fell into the trap of Tamar's seductive dressing, what a lesson should we learn? It is important to know that sinners will continue to wax worse and worse, seducing, deceiving and been deceived of Satan lest they be saved, it is therefore important, to keep thyself pure against the indecency of the sinner, flee from all appearance of evil, lest you are caught up in the Devil's trap.

  Salvation is the first step towards from from sin, if you are not free from Sin then you need Jesus, Let Jesus come into your heart.

Challenge: How do you dress: to please God or to seduce men?

Prayer: Let the whole of my Life please you.

Topic: Wrong decision of Esau

Text: Genesis 27 & 28

Key text: Genesis 27:41  And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.

The wrong decision of Esau did not start in the passage of today, it started from chapter 25 when he sold his birthright, then he knew not the value of what he sold, today's text, is where the understanding of what he has lost came, he realised he Lost his Birthright and the Father's Blessing.

He was not too concern with the Birthright that was lost as the blessing, and this is the case with many today, they had the privilege of Salvation, the Birthright of the saints, but they sold their Birthright to the pleasure of this world, yet many who have sold their birthright this way are not concerned, because they are still enjoying God's Mercy and Blessings, not knowing that Satan to who the Birthright has been sold will come back to steal the blessing, no wonder many are living in miseries today who have once enjoyed the Goodness of God.

The error of Esau did not end there, he hated his Brother, and comforted himself with a determination to kill his Brother Jacob, what an unwise decision, Many today are  like Esau, the want to have a revenge, and this has taken their condition from worse to worst, and even claim their lives, what a tragedy!.

Esau seeing his mistake, did not yet admit that he was the cause,  he rather blamed it on his Brother, the failure of Many to admit that sin is the cause of their Problem, is the reason why their Problem persist.

Repentance from sin and allowing Jesus to be your Lord and saviour is the solution to the Problem of Sin and its consequences.

Challenge: Don't blame you fault on others. Just correct them.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, Bring me into a father and son relationship with You.

Steps to Salvation

-Accept that you are a sinner, "for all have sinned"(Romans 3:23)

- Accept the truth that Jesus died for your sins, and that only by him can you escape and get saved (Act 4:12)

-Confess your sins with a sincere heart, because, "if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". (1John 1:8)

- Determine not to go back into those sins, by forsaking them totally and all the things that can draw you back into them and pray for mercy.(Proverb 28:13).

PRAY THIS PRAYER: Jesus, I thank you for your death on the cross for my sin, I accept that I am a sinner and I confess my sin before you now, (MENTION THOSE SINS YOU COMMIT), Lord forgive me all my sins, blot away my sins, wash and cleanse me with your blood, write my name in the Book Of Life. I acknowledge you as my personal Lord and Saviour and promise not to go back into my sins anymore, IN JESUS NAME I HAVE PRAYED. AMEN.

NOW THAT YOU HAVE ESCAPED SHOW OTHERS THE ROUTE TO THE ESCAPE CORNER.

Two Books

Two books they are,
The Book of Life and the Book of your life.
Cos your life is a book,
And you're writing therein from day to day.
Each of your action, and result of your thought are recorded.
What's written in this Book determines if your name will be in the Book of Life.

The Book of Life is the book,
Where those washed in the Blood of Christ are written,
Those whose name are written there, are those,
whose righteousness from God is not soiled with sin.
This is God's register for those who will enter at the Gate of Heaven.

What are you writing in your life's book?
Have repentance been written?
Have you got a day you confess your sins to God, confessing Jesus as your Lord and savior?
Have you got a response from Heaven, that your sins are forgiven and your iniquities purged?
Is the page where your sins were washed away already written, or torn away?

Are you busy writing other good things and omitting that which will grant you a pass at the pearly Gate of Heaven?
Unless you are saved from sin and that recorded in your life's Book then your name cannot be in the Book of Life.

God is ready to write your name in the Book of Life,
That you may have a pass at the Gate of pearl,
JUST come to him in repentance, and he will put your name in the Book of Life

A simple truth

Christians can't afford to be silent, you have to obey the Great commission, it is compulsory, it is
not optional you have to hurry, because sinners will die and go to hell, it is not sufficient to go to
church you have to accept Jesus Christ, repent, and turn away from your sin.
Hell is real, heaven is sure, no sinner will get to heaven no righteous will go to hell...

Choice

There is always the need to make choices in life, these choices have been a determinant factor of, who, what and where we are now, and there are Choices that have hindered us, others have propelled us, but, as we must understand that we are but strangers in this world, the Choice we make here, determine if we'll follow the route home, or be lost in the crowd, many are already lost but, as many as will look at the road map of repentance, and come through Jesus, will find their way back to Heaven.
