Topic: Beware of the tempter
Text: Gen 3-4
Key text: And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. (Gen 3:13)
Discussion: As we have come into a new year we ought to be watchful not to allow the devil to take an advantage of us through his temptations, it is definite that the devil will bring temptations along the way, his purpose is to prevent you from getting God’s best in the year, but since we already know this then we should do all we should, not to fall prey of his devices, what are those things we should do?
1. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, Read the Bible daily
2. Pray that ye enter not into temptations, Pray always
3. Flee all appearances of Evil, abstain from all object of temptation
God warned Cain that sin “lieth at the door” yet he was not sensitive, hence, we must be sensitive to the warnings from God through his word, or his servants.
Jesus was tempted and he overcame, and you also will overcome in Jesus name.
Challenge: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man
Prayer: Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
