Topic: Blessing of Peace Makers
Text: Genesis 13-15
Key text: And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. (Genesis 13 : 8)
Discussion: Abraham continued to reap the rewards of his action (peace making) in our key text, the choice of Lot could have made him angry, but no, he was not. This made God to bless Abraham, and Lot when his covetousness push him to Sodom, a flourishing land marked for destruction Abraham did not see it as a recompense on Lot when they took Lot captive, but Abraham when he heard rose up and delivered Lot, consequently God, said to Abraham "...saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be." (Genesis 15:1, 5)
The world where we find ourselves today is full of violence and strife, even when it is your desire to make peace, there will come your way people who pleasure in violence they are not satisfied by peace, the scripture says the way of Peace have they not known, hence the need to be careful and watchful, lest they achieve their desire to make you angry, and respond with a fight back.
As believers we are peace makers, we are to lighten up the darkness, bring smile to people we meet, we are to make peace between ourselves as Christian, between ourself and others, and we are to make peace between two other people, put an end to strife and lend an helping hand to a brother in need today.
Challenge: Are you a Peace Maker? Blessed are the Peace Makers
Prayer: Lord make me a Peace Maker, help me know a Brother in need and meet their needs, supply my needs too, according to your riches in Glory. In Jesus Name (Amen)
