September 16: Eternity or Vanity

Eternity or Vanity

TEXT: Ecclesiastics 1-6

GOLDEN TEXT: Ecclesiastes 3:2

 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

Discussion:

The preacher was careful to give a true perspective about our transient journey in life, he talked about, our birth, insatiable desires, our basic needs and the end of our Journey, on this side of life.

His careful consideration of all things as vanity brings the question is there anything else that has a greater value than these vanities, if there is, then it demands that we give our absolute commitment to laying hold on it.

The words of Jesus, then brings us that one thing of great, inestimable value in
Matthew 16:26

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

THE SOUL

The soul of man is that talent committed to man for profit, and when we shall meet the Lord whether through death or the rapture, it shall be demanded of us, how we have profited thereby, and our response determines where we shall spend eternity; the intransient life.

The question today is this, how are you preparing for the unending life, are you born again, are you free from sin, is ETERNIY YOUR PRIORITY OR THESE VANITIES?

 He who fails to prepare for eternity, is busy with vanities, that he can't spend at eternity; What a wasted opportunity.

CHALLENGE: Prepare for Eternity
