Isaiah 16 – 18
Focus: Isaiah 18:3
“All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.”
Our passage today talks of the judgement of God coming on the wicked, both to individual nations (chapter 16,17) and the whole earth (Chapter 18), however, our text also reveals God's warning to those who will escape Judgment.
The nature of God condemns sin, he is holy, pure, and he is put off by sin, Habakkuk 1:13, Isaiah 59:2.
However, because of his love for humanity, and his knowledge of humans' inability to see beyond, he raises an alarm of danger ahead for every sinner and erring child.
He raises a warning for us today so that we don't fall into his Judgement. This warning comes through his word, and through his servants, at times he speaks to us directly, so we have to heed the warning to prevent the damnation.
CHALLENGE: What is God warning you about? Heed the warning, before he comes with Judgement.
