Mercy makes the Difference

Text: Isaiah 13 - 15
Focus: Isaiah 14:1

"For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob."

Mercy is God's benevolent way of not giving us the punishment we deserve, it is the attribute of his love, hence the scripture says "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy." Romans 9:15

While many are receiving the just punishment for their unrighteousness, a few others have discovered  mercy, and are receiving an unmerited favour from God.

Israel as a nation, was no better than all the nation of the earth at the time we are reading here, but she obtained mercy from God, and instead of punishment melted in other nations, the Lord shew her mercy.

The question then is this: how can I obtain Mercy?
Hebrew 4:16 offers the answer: "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

The way we can obtain Mercy, is to come to the throne of Grace and the throne is accessible to everyone, for it is revealed in Titus 2:11 "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,"

It would be wise to allow this grace into our life, by repentance from sin and accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, the moment we have done this, and abide by the teachings of Grace, we have access to the throne of Grace, And thereby we can always obtain Mercy, and Grace for more Grace.

CHALLENGE: The Mercy of God is available to make the difference in your life, have you gone to the throne of Grace to obtain?
